Position Summary
The Sr. Manager, Medical Information will oversee and personally contribute to the creation and dissemination of scientific and medical information.  Reporting to VP Medical Affairs, this role will collaborate cross functionally to lead the development of medical information resources and tools for use across the organization.  This individual will use their scientific expertise and knowledge to ensure ongoing accuracy of a comprehensive product knowledge database, maintaining alignment with new data and communication objectives over time. A high level of competence in cross-departmental communication will be required in order to anticipate future needs and ensure approved, compliant information resources are available and tailored for key audiences in a variety of formats. Deliverables will include traditional Medical Information materials, as well as support for the broader scientific communication needs.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
  • Lead Medical Information Database Development: Spearhead the creation and management of a comprehensive Medical Information database and other essential resources to support key internal and external stakeholders throughout clinical development.
  • Maintain and Enhance Product Knowledge Resources: Oversee the continuous improvement and maintenance of product knowledge resources tailored to various audiences, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information.
  • Prepare for Product Commercialization: Lead the development of a robust Medical Information infrastructure in preparation for product launch, ensuring seamless execution during commercialization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Clinical Development, Scientific Communications, Statistics, Field Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and Commercial teams to ensure all resources are accurate, relevant, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ensure Compliance: Partner with Legal and Regulatory teams to establish guidelines that ensure the compliance of all Medical Information materials.
  • Support Additional Initiatives: Provide support to Scientific Communications and Clinical Development teams with additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Advanced Doctorate Degree: PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in Medical Affairs, with a strong preference for experience in Medical Information or Medical Writing.
  • Specialization: Prior experience in Epilepsy, Neurology, and/or rare diseases is highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FDA regulations, PhRMA guidelines, OIG guidelines, and the Sunshine Act is essential.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management: Proven track record in managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Team Leadership: A collaborative team player who can inspire colleagues, lead cross-functional teams, and drive the achievement of objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in conveying complex scientific data to both healthcare professionals and patient/caregiver audiences.
  • Data Privacy Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA and the critical importance of patient data privacy.
  • Skills Required: Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Pay Transparency
The expected salary for candidates who work in La, Jolla, CA is $165,000.00 - $180,000.00. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Longboard Pharmaceuticals, Inc is a multi-state employer and will consider candidates based in remote work locations.
